Longcase Clock by Charles Raymond of Lydeway c1765. Superb provenance and very original/desirable in Devizes, Wiltshire for sale
A wonderfully small proportioned 10 inch dial, single - handed 30-hour oak longcase clock made by Charles Raymond of Lydeway from about c1765. The clock is very original and desirable . It has spent at least 180 years of its life in a thatched cottage in/ near Lydeway (Devizes) - not far from where it was originally made. I purchased the clock about 15 years ago from the specialist antique clock dealer Allan Smith of Swindon for £3000 and the clock can be seen fully illustrated on my clock collectors website listed below. The clock is with me in Sidcup, Kent and I am advertising it in the Wiltshire area because of its lovely provenance and it would be ideal for owners of an old thatched cottage or old house in or near the Lydeway area (Devizes). The clock was illustrated in Clocks Magazine in 2001 and the dial is shown in the Longcase Reference Book ( Frontispiece) Please contact me for further information.
